Sam Parr's Motivation Tattoo
Share
Sam Parr tells a story about how Noah Kagan's "Monthly 1K" course inspired him to give himself DIY tattoos as motivation.
"I bought Noah's Monthly 1K course when I was 23 years old. It was $300, which was a really big deal for me at the time. During that period of my life, it was all about action. I went and bought a sewing needle for a stick and poke tattoo - where you wrap thread around a pencil with just the needle sticking out, buy India ink for $5, and make little dots.
I tattooed the word 'act' on my left foot and 'now' on my right foot. Every day when I wake up in bed and put my feet down at the edge, I see 'act now.' That became my whole mantra for business. The course taught me it's all about action - business plans are stupid, business cards are stupid, LLCs are stupid - it's all about action.
Sometimes people look at it and say 'what's act?' and I tell them I've got 'now' on the other foot. I just love testing."
