Syed's Florida Empire

A story about how Syed built a massive business empire starting from a WordPress blog, shared by Sam Parr.

"We met Syed who I imagine is worth 500 to a billion dollars. He started a WordPress blog, which sounds crazy stupid if you don't know what you're talking about - which I didn't. Turns out that killed it. Then he bought tons of gas stations. Now he owns 50 different WordPress plugins collectively that does over 100 million in revenue. He's a young guy in Florida, not even in Miami - I think he's in Fort Lauderdale.

What's amazing is he did this from a not traditionally 'cool' place. He started with a WordPress blog, which most people would dismiss, but he turned it into this massive empire of WordPress plugins and gas stations. He's probably one of the most successful people we've had on the podcast, and he did it in a completely unconventional way."

In 2016, he founded The Hustle, a business news media company that started in his kitchen with just $12 and grew to eight figures in revenue.

Sam remains the host of the popular business podcast, My First Million, and continues to start and sell companies. He also co-founded Hampton, a highly vetted community for entrepreneurs, founders, and CEOs, and teaches people to write better through his platform, Copy That.
